Therese "Thea" Reyrao

From drawing cartoons when I was young to creating my own clothing line in high school, I seem to have always had an affinity for the arts. And while I do appreciate it a lot, I felt in my gut it was not the path I wanted to take. I started off undeclared at UNLV, expecting to major in healthcare like my family. But then I learned about the graphic design program, a new goal for me to embark on. It wasn’t always easy though. When my portfolio was rejected, I felt discouraged and demotivated to apply again. Thankfully, with the encouragement from my friends and family, I was able to get out of my comfort zone and keep pursuing my dream. I feel grateful for the countless opportunities in my journey and the like-minded designers I met along the way. There’s going to be a whole new set of obstacles after graduating, but I think I’m ready to take on that challenge.
