Martina Rodriguez

My creative journey began early, from the moment I could hold a pencil. Having two parents that were into art, it felt natural to follow in their footsteps. That being said, I was lucky to have parents that supported my passion. However, having moved a few times, I’ve always struggled socially and art was what helped me get through some of the toughest moments of my life. Not only did art give me space for self-expression, it also led to me meeting some of my closest friends and gaining self confidence. I owe a debt of gratitude to the teachers, mentors, and friends who consistently believed in me. However, it wasn’t until last year that I decided to believe in myself and to take the leap of faith. Things have only been looking up and I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have been given, but also to everyone who saw something in me even when I couldn’t myself and pushed me to chase after my dreams. I couldn’t have done it without any of you and you all have shaped me into the person I am today.
