Isis Teruya-Uwaine

Hello! I’m Isis Teruya-Uwaine and I was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. Growing up I’ve always had an interest in the world of arts whether it be through crafts, drawing, music, or fashion. I found joy in bullet journaling because it gave me the creative freedom to design page layouts while keeping organized. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I discovered my true passion for design. While being a teacher's aide and student in graphic design class, I was heavily involved in the process from conception to creation, designing stickers, t-shirts, banners, and more. I especially found excitement and inspiration in typography, logos, and the ability to communicate visually. Throughout this journey, my graphic style and interests have evolved, leading me to appreciate various aspects of design with a particular focus on UX/UI, branding, and poster design. I strive for design that showcases my creativity, thoughtful approach, and the unique perspective I bring to my work. In the future, I aspire to pursue design roles within the fashion and music industries.

My goal is to create a zine that educates music lovers of the proper methods for smooth and easy listening.

Despite vinyl becoming a trend again, many don’t know how to use it properly. Incorrectly using record players can cause damage to valuable records affecting its sound quality and overall listening experience. Due to this, I created a zine that guides users through the process, ensuring that both vinyl records and record players last for years to come. Spinology caters to music enthusiasts interested in maintaining their vinyl records. Whether you own a record player or are thinking of buying one, Spinology will be available upon purchase of vinyl records at music stores.
